Package Specification

This package contains the symbols for the GChat chat application. Explore the files in this order:

• GChatRequestSymbols.cmds: This is the file describing the commands understood by the server. Note that there is another file, .../org/gjt/chitec/gjsa/BasicRequestSymbols.cmds, which describes commands which are also known to the server (they are known to ANY GJSA server as they are needed by the framework). As you see, GChat server defines only three commands. If you wanted to add a new command, you would have to insert a new symbol in this file.
• GChatRequestSymbols.java: This one is created mechanically from the .cmds file above. This happens to any .cmds file by using a preprocessor script (.../org/gjt/chitec/gjsa/cmdlisttojava.sh). The cj compilation script takes care of this step automatically.
• GChatReplySymbols.cmds/.java: The same thing with symbols for replies. Note that .../org/gjt/chitec/gjsa/BasicReplySymbols.cmds/.java does define more reply symbols, and normally those are enough for everything, but as we use GJSA's free floating messages for broadcasting the chat messages, it is nice to have special reply message symbols at the hands.
